The Who, What, Why and Where

Twilio is looking for a Director of M&A Communications to lead all internal M&A communications and program management and help scale this function for one of the hottest hyper growth companies in tech.

This role sits on the Corporate Communications team and reports to the Senior Director of Internal Communications. The person in this role would work directly with C-suite executives and senior leaders on high visibility corporate programs related to M&A deals and the integration of acquired companies.

Who?

Twilio is looking for an experienced internal M&A communicator with the following skill sets:

10 years of internal and/or executive communication

s experience with at least 2 years direct experience managing M&A communications.

Comprehensive understanding of digital communications and how all the program components including PR, social, editorial and thought leadership fit together in an integrated strategy.

Outstanding leadership skills. Someone who takes the initi

ative, making hard decisions, and is accountable.

Flexible and able to roll with the punches in a high-pressure, dynamic environment. Someone who can make quick decisions and prioritize in a fast paced environment with some ambiguity.

erate structurally like a program manager/ leader, while also unafraid to roll up their sleeves - a total doer.

Excellent writing skills are a must

, including high-quality, thoughtful executive communications, ghost writing, and crisp central messaging.

Top-notch executive team management. The ability to be persuasive, collaborative, and accommodating -- yet firm -- with all partners, including C-suite execs. They will embody c

onfidence with coaching executives and expressing a point of view, while also being able to “disagree and commit.”

Strong interpersonal skills. Someone who is collaborative, structured, and persuasive in championing a direction that helps advance organizational objectives. This role requires e

mpathy, kindness, and the ability to understand the unique Twilion audience.

Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or otherwise writing-intensive field.

What?

The person who fills this role will play a crucial part in connecting Twilions to our company’s mission, vision, and priorities, using the voice of our shared company culture -- something we call the

Twilio Magic

as we scale our fast-growing company towards a future of 10,000 employees.

The person in this role will:

Develop, own and execute communications strategies for acquisitions, divestitures and support ongoing integration of acquired companies.

Collaborate with business deal leads and sponsors and act as a thought partner on reaching a concise, clear and accurate deal rationale.

Plan, draft messaging, and execute on company M&A announcements, incorporating strategic narrative in how we can speak to it internally and with customers.

Partner with key stakeholders across the organization – including product, product marketing, field marketing, Integration management office, executive sponsor, Go To Market leadership, HR leadership and Investor communications team– to ensure that the messaging is cohesive and well understood by critical audiences.

Draft sophisticated, thoughtful C-level executive communications, i.e. emails, video scripts, and presentations.

Own coordination of day-to-day M&A and integration communication activities, including collaborating with external and internal communication leads, assisting with content creation and review and overall program management.

Manage agency, vendor, and contractor resources and budgets.

This position will start out fully remote, as Twilio’s offices are temporarily closed due to COVID-19. After that time, the position will be Twilio’s HQ at 101 Spear Street in San Francisco.
