Description

Humana's Corporate Marketing organization is seeking a seasoned communications expert to join our Internal Communications Team, supporting the transformation of Humana's core insurance technology systems and operating model - known as the Humana Modernization initiative.

Responsibilities

In this role, the Communications Lead will have the opportunity to step into the position of senior counselor on engagements with high-profile partners executing against this critical company initiative. You'll work closely with senior leaders within Modernization, IT, and across the broader enterprise to prepare for and manage through this evolution. The specialist hired for this position will play a key leadership role in building team-specific and companywide communications plans and is responsible for executing a broad range of communication activities across a variety of channels to maximize messaging opportunities and effectiveness.

This role requires someone invigorated by challenges, complex subject matter, and the critical thinking required to help and organization of our size and complexity navigate ongoing change - all through the lens of the employees who power our business. This communicator will work on problems of diverse scope and complexity that asks them to not only distill complex subject matter into simpler terms for a broad audience, but also to exercise independent judgment and decision making on intricate issues that require influence to manage organizational change. A background that brings together communications, change management, and information technology and/or healthcare operations is preferred.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, IT, business or relevant field

8 or more years of experience in corporate and/or employee communications leadership role

Minimum of 2 years leading executive writing and communications strategy development

Experience distilling highly technical subject matter into digestible content, leading/managing projects from start to finish, and working with ambiguity and across cross-functional teams to influence organizational change and culture

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Background in healthcare operations or IT

Knowledge of and ability to navigate across Humana

Change Management experience and/or certification

Recent experience with large-scale change and transformation within a corporate, healthcare, or agency setting

Additional Requirements/Information

All Humana associates approved for the Home or Hybrid Home/Office work styles are required to self-provide wireless, wired cable or DSL access to the internet at the connectivity speeds required by the company to successfully perform their job with the exception of associates who live or work from home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Connectivity requirements are detailed below.

Connectivity - Requirement Details

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.

Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)

Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
