Responsibilities
The Multimedia Journalist is responsible for developing content, shooting, writing & editing news stories on a daily basis. The stories will include news of the day, features, enterprise stories among others for all platforms.
Responsibilities
• Will operate a handheld digital camera and related equipment to shoot, write & edit news stories on a daily basis for station's newscasts, programs and digital platforms.
• Works directly with news managers and producers on story ideas and development
• Presents completed stories that are accurate, journalistically sound, fair and balanced
• Will coordinate, organize, conduct and video-record interviews
• Will develop on-going “special series” and stories for all platforms
• Represents Telemundo in community-related and other station events
• Builds relationships with community and contacts for developing story leads.
• Potentially fill in for general assignment reporters
• Create digital content that compliments ****• Write scripts, lead-ins and bridges as requested by supervisor or producers
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Multi-Media Journalist and/or reporter
• Bachelor's Degree in journalism or related field
• Demonstrated skills as journalist, photographer and editor
• Must be an excellent writer in Spanish language
• Fluent in English language
• News judgment with solid ethical decision process
• Ability to perform under tight deadlines
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Must be willing to work weekends and night shifts
