Responsibilities
• Shoot, edit and write newsworthy events for NBC7 digital and on-air platforms as needed.
• Work directly with NBC7 Managing Editor and Digital Manager on story ideas and development.
• Coordinate and conduct interviews and produce video clips and articles on a variety of topics including breaking/spot news, general news, sports, and feature stories relevant to the San Diego community.
• Using AP style, present completed stories with fair, accurate and community relevant content.
• Accurately and effectively tell stories on social media platforms through images, video, or live reports.
• Report on-air for NBC7 and Telemundo 20, if capable.
• Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local news.
• Coordinate closely with NBC 7 Managing Editor and Digital Manager during breaking news.
Qualifications
/Requirements
•Minimum two years of experience as a journalist
•Proficient in Social Media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
•Ability to work in a team and across all departments and locations, ensuring digital formats that are 100% accurate without typos or errors
•Flexible, with a willingness to undertake shift work associated with working for a 24/7 news operation.
•Experience working in content management systems required
•Demonstrated knowledge of AP Style writing and guidelines
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

•Must be 18 years or greater
•Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
•Must have ability to work any of a 24x7 shift

Desired Characteristics
